PERSONALITYGregarious
Sociable to a fault, Ducky needs to be surrounded by others to thrive. He hates to be alone, and will demand that he be paired up instead of being solo. He's a very extroverted dragon, and there are no moments where he shies away from conversation or group outings. He grew up with having people around him, and he intends for it to stay that way for as long as he lives. He's a very talkative person, and often rambles on about his adventures or funny stories he's encountered in his travels. Even when he's nervous or embarrassed, he'll babble about anything, as long as someone is willing to stand by and listen. If no one is, then he'll turn to something else: listening. He's willing to keep his mouth shut to hear other people's stories or experiences, as those intrigue him the most. He's a sympathetic and active listener, often giving subtle encouragements or movements that show he's paying attention. He remembers the stories of others the most, and it's most likely something he'll keep until the end of his days. Childish Ducky is rather immature for someone his age. He never really grew up from his childhood antics, and it's something that's very apparent in his attitude, perspective, and speech. He has his moments where he acts like the mature adult he needs to be, but he'd rather live like he did in his youth. He doesn't know exactly where he got it, but he believes it's from his birth parents, and that's how he received the name "Ducky" when he wandered into his mother's home.

♦ Limonade
Ducky is absolutely in love with his mate, Limonade. He's known her since he was a child, but didn't realize he liked her as more than a friend until his teenage years, and found that he couldn't picture a day without her smile or her giggles at his jokes. She's helped him mature (even though he still retains his childish attitude) and grow, and learn to care for things little by little. They're often by each other's sides, tails entwined, doing things they enjoy, such as watching the stars in a meadow or swimming in Ducky's pond. ♦ Sollux Ducky's first son helped him realize that being a child at heart--while a good thing--is not a way to lead through life. Having Sollux allowed him to mature and grow up, so he could take care of his son to the best of his ability. Unfortunately, however, it did not help him understand any of the problems his children faced and only confused him more when said children asked for his help during these situations. He abstained from giving advice and allowed Limonade to handle the sincere conversations, while providing the humour and surface-level love for the family. Ducky regrets doing it specifically for Sollux, since it put a strain in their relationship, but he knows it was for the best instead of causing damage by his misdirections. While his childish nature gets in the way of their relationship and creates a struggle, he loves his son very much and would do anything to make sure Sollux is happy and safe. |
